About Larry Vincent
Hello, my name is Larry Vincent and I have lived in Cole County my entire life. I’ve had the privilege of working with, and belonging to, various civic and service organizations for the betterment of our community for over thirty years now. When I went to work for my Dad, Nelson ("Nellie") Vincent in 1975, he told me I had an obligation to give back to the community that I worked and lived in. Little did I know at that time the community would give more to me than I could ever give to it. In many instances, I’ve followed in my father’s footsteps. He was a past president of the Jefferson City Jaycees--and so was I. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce--so am I. He served as the Collector for Jefferson City, and I’m now serving as the Collector for Cole County.
I had the privilege of representing Jefferson City’s 5th Ward for five terms on the City Council, and worked with whom I believe have been three of Jefferson City’s finest mayors: Duane Shreimann, Tom Rackers, and John Landwehr. I’ve also been privileged to serve on the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Commission for the past six years, and was selected by the Cole County Republican Central Committee and appointed by Governor Matt Blunt to replace Skip Rich as Cole County Collector...and Skip’s shoes will be hard to fill.
Having said all that, I still believe that none of those things I mentioned can compare to the privilege of growing up in a family that cares about others, having friends that care about others, and living in a community that cares about others. It would be my privilege, and honor, to continue to serve you as Cole County’s Collector of Revenue.
